Being taught by a STUDENT like me?!!(KYSD)
Well, honestly, it is not a big deal for me at all. Ever since i was still in first year, i already experienced it. And besides, is is not just during KYSD that i experienced that. During normal days, we are doing that. Every time we have some concepts in our class that we, as an individual student cannot fathom anymore, we discuss it as a group. One of our classmate, the more knowledgeable one would approach the board and discuss to us the blurred concept. Usually, we have this kind of discussion if we have hard time realizing the concepts introduced in our Physics and Calculus class(two of the hardest subjects). That is why, being taught by a student on the duration of the KYSD celebration is something very usual for me.
Another reason why i find it ordinary is that, ever since, when i was still in my first years here in UP, i was a teacher in our class, it is only during this year that i did not apply for any position. Maybe because i find it uninteresting anymore, or should i say, very tiresome. That is why i never attempted to apply being a teacher anymore, not even attempt to hold even the application form, even though lots of my classmates encouraged me to do so. They said that they really want me to teach either of the two subjects because, as they told me, i am a very efficient teacher(“daw”) and i could explain very well(“daw”). Their words were indeed very flattering but it was my laziness which convinced me more. So i decided not to apply anymore.
One funny reaction thrown in front of me was blame. They kept on complaining that they were not able to understand some teachers handling our class. They told me that i could have replaced the assign teacher and with that, they said that could have understood the lessons better(oh, that caused me liver-spread). They did not notice that the teacher they were referring to heard us as they have backbitten him/her. So to cover up their insensitivity, i explain that he/she explained the subject vividly that even a Grade one student can understand(a great compliment, isn't it?), which was true. And then i added that it was them who were not listening that is why they were not able to understand the lesson. To avoid the conversation from continuing, I immediately walked away after my compliments.
As a whole, i found the KYSD celebration this year the most boring celebration compared to the KYSD of the previous years. Maybe because we were not that participative on that activity now that we are already seniors, it is not that interesting anymore.!!
